Robyn P Clarke

I am a Sydney-born artist who was trained at the National Art School in Darlinghurst (East Sydney Tech) and at the Alexander Mackie Teachers' College.
I paint (acrylics and oil), make ceramics and work in collages and assemblages.
In Melbourne I have exhibited with Roar Studios and Stuart Gerstmann and my work is represented in the NGV, regional galleries and private collections. In Sydney my galleries have included the Holdsworth Gallery, Harris Courtin and Barry Stern.
After 25 years in Sydney I moved back to Victoria in 2010. My present paintings are influenced by my immediate landscape where rocks dominate the countryside. My final years in NSW were spent partly in the Blue Mountains where my work was represented by the elemental forces of bushfires and storms
I am represented in the seminal work A Dictionary of Women Artists of Australia by Max Germaine. I was for some years Craft Critic of The Age newspaper, as well as a writer for Craft Australia and a contributor to The Encyclopaedia of Australian Art.
